Before you do anything, I invite you to call in your support. If you're familiar with doing this, no need to read this section. Is this new for you? 'Support' refers to beings and guides you can call upon whenever and wherever you choose to. They are angels, ascended masters, totem spirits, ancestors and relatives who have left the body), and others. They provide support, clarity, protection and amplify the energies behind the 'intention energies we send out. As an example, I call in my Grandfather (no longer in body), Quan Yin for compassion (for self and the world), Ganesha (the placer and remover of obstacles), Archangel Michael (for power and to assist in releasing that which i wish to let go of), various animal spirits, angels, and off-planet entities (Pleiadians, most commonly.
I finish this part with a phrase similar to 'with ease and grace, for the highest good of all'.

Activate your chakras system by focusing attention on each. To do this, send your breath into each energy center. Your consciousness is the activational trigger, and it travels along on your breath, so as you breathe into each chakra, you're breathing your awareness into each. I use a nasal breath for this and I begin with the crown and end with the root, imagining and feeling each center opening and coming alive.  Once you're seven basic chakras are spinning and awakened, generate (imagine or sense) a cord of light to connect them and extend that cord down through the earth into the iron core crystal of the planet. Cycle your energy along this cord back along it's path, up through yourself, out your crown and deep into space. Feel this cord 'rooting' like a tree at both ends and cycle the flow of light (energy) back and forth a few times along this cord. There are numerous visualizations and approaches to this process. The key is not to get stuck in trying to get the imagery 'right', but just to get familiar with feeling. Continue to return your focus to the sensation of being energized from within, strengthening your  connection to the ground and your place in the Milky Way and the Galaxy beyond. You are rooting yourself in earth and star, because you are both.

Amp it up with some Cellular Activation. This involves placing your attention on a single cell anywhere in your body. Your heart, high heart (top of the sternum, between heart and throat) and third eye are great places to begin. Imagine or sense a single cell. See or feel the journey in through the skin, through the muscle and bone, going increasingly microscopic until you can tune into a single cell. If you can step directly into a cell, all the better. Take as much or as little time with this as you wish. If you have difficulty seeing or feeling it, do as best you can and trust that it's enough. This may take practice and will work for you regardless.

Energetically we are spherical beings. So, as you send out intentions, they travel out in every direction and in every dimension.
Remember also that when we grow in region of our lives, we evolve in every domain.

Choose your intentions: Do you have an extensive, possibly exhausting list of intentions? Do you have a hard time deciding where to focus your attention? One approach, after everything is roughly written out, is to prioritize. What's most important to you? You may have numerous items that qualify, so go ahead and include those items here. Then make your secondary list. When you're ready to send them out (and in) to the Universe, try to focus on just a few of them, trusting that the rest will come along on their own.

Make some lists, by playing with the question; "What do you want?". Be as real and honest as you can. Below is an incomplete list of ideas:

Emotional: How do you want to feel? How do you want your flow to be?
Spiritual: Do you want to be more connected to Source? How would you like to experience your soul lessons? Expanded dreaming? Amplified healing abilities?
Mental: Would you like more clarity and acuity? More stillness?
Physical: Are you looking for more fitness? Stronger? More supple and flexible? Are you healing particular ailments?
Creative Projects: What projects are on your plate and incomplete? What new projects are interested in initiating? Have you been, 'lone wolfing' it? What would it be like to have the support of your community to achieve your goals?
Relationships: Family, Friendships, business partnerships, lovers, Intimate love relationships, ascended beings, animal spirits; Do you need to be a better listener? Do you desire to be heard more? Are you trusting? Are you honest, with them and with yourself? Where are they fulfilling and not?
Financial: What does enoughness look like for you? What does abundance look like for you?

Your Community:
Social / Tribal partnerships, support and collaborations: How do you want it to look or feel?
For your friends, family and intimate partner(s) 

The Planet:
More peace
More awakening
more Progressive

Consider these all to be suggestions. The best way to do this is to write out how you want them to be during the coming year, for 2 or 3 of the categories.
Be as specific as possible. "I'd like my lower back pain to stop". This could become, "I intend to be supported by a strong, supple back." Setting an intention like this programs in the inspiration to sit differently, to take up or re-affirm a yoga practice, to be gentler with yourself. and so on.

Once your initial list is done, let it be. Walk away, work on other projects. Come back some time later, read through your list, and notice what you'd like to rephrase. If you notice that your Intentions are all superficial, explore what the underlying desires are, and edit your list. Setting an intention to double your income, for example, is great. And, feeling your way deeper into that, you may find that you're asking for more peace  of mind, so you can add that to your list.

Once you're satisfied with your list, select the first item on the list and feel it. Imagine what it feels like for that desire to already be true. Imagine that you have what you've asked for or that you how you intend to feel. Can you step into it? If you're intending for a pain-free lower back, can you feel that? How does that effect your emotional state? Entertain it like a fantasy. Imagine how it will be, being strong and supple, going about your day?  

The key to Intentioning is to practice feeling having already accomplished your goals. Already feeling the way you wish to feel.
The way to reinforce it, is to play out the rest of this imagined being. if a thing were true, what would you do next? What choices would you make next? What choices would you reverse? What steps would you take next, if that first piece were in place. Allow yourself to play them all out and invite yourself to feel all of it as deeply as possible.

A very simple example: I was walking home. It was chilly, a bit windy, I had my laptop on my back, and I had a ways to go. So, I imagined someone pulling over to give me a ride. Then I added that the ride be fun and inspiring. Then I added that it was a friend who pulled over. While imagining this, I experienced getting into a car, saying hi to the good friend who was driving, felt the ride all the way home, flt the ease of being home, felt my shoulders relax (though I was carrying a heavy bag), and began mentally going over what I would be doing when I got home; making dinner, taking a bath, cleaning up a bit, working on my website).

Less than three minute later, a friend pulled over (almost causing the car next to her to wreck), to give me a ride! Just like that. So, here's another lesson; i didn't ask for it to happen safely, and I forgot 'with ease and grace'.

Now, allow the cell to glow from within. Let it build until it's light is so strong that the cell walls cannot contain it's brilliance and allow that starlight to initiate the same awakening in the cell next to it, and those around it, until the chain reaction has enlightened every cell in your body. Can you feel it filling your chest, your arms, your legs? The light will start to stream out your fingers and toes, out your eyes and ears and tail (bone). Brighter and brighter

Notice if you feel warmth or vibration, an increase in your heart rate, something else entirely or nothing at all.  Everyone experiences this differently and the strength and nature of what you feel may shift with practice.

Remember to take slow, deep breaths  along the way and drop your shoulders if their tight. I prefer in through my nose and out through my mouth and there are many schools of thought for this. Do what feels good.

Now that you are fully activated (enlightened), set in your intention.

  • Choose your intention(s): Write out your intention(s) clearly. The more precise and exact you can be, the better. Trust that you may  go back and re-write your intentions, trimming away as you get closer to your truths. This is a process in itself. Once you have settled on the intention(s) you wish to activate,
  • Feel each of your intentions already being true. Allow yourself to imagine your life and how it feels and looks, with each Intention being a description of something that's currently true. How would your interactions be? What new choices would you make, under these new truths? Play out your new imagined self.
  • Keep your list in visible site, so you can read it or see it, daily. Let yourself continue to edit and rewrite your list. Tapped to your bathroom mirror, on your altar, or near where you work.
  • Baby Steps: Choose one action for each, that you can take in your life. If one of your intentions regards how you interact with others, act from the new intention with curiosity, as best you can, as you explore the owning of it.
